Georgie’s First Day at School!

There is really nothing quite like the mix of emotions one feels watching their baby grow up. The joy and sense of pride I have watching Georgie flourish as she learns new things and develops new skill sets is unequivocally fulfilling.

What is especially wild to me, is the equally strong feeling of sadness over the fact that she will never be this little again. There have been many times I have felt this mix of emotions over the almost two years since she was born, but seeing her engage with her tiny little friends in her new classroom takes that feeling to a whole new level.

Her little backpack, almost as big as she is, was quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen. And seeing her so ready to embrace this new chapter in her life filled me with so much joy and reassurance that she was growing into a confident and independent young person.

It has been so much fun having a front-row seat to watch her explore the colorful and engaging surroundings as she finds her place outside of the home. It has also been a harsh reminder that time is relentless. I can only hope that, with each passing day, she continues to blossom into an even greater version of the little girl I know and love so deeply, and that she makes herself as proud as she makes her dad.
